Favorite NYC Spots - LAUNE x Wallis Sugg

About Wallis:

Wallis Sugg grew up on the coast of North Carolina and went to school in Charleston, where she developed her love for photography and fine dining. She loves traveling, trying new restaurants and going to the beach. New York City has been her home for the past four years and there's truly never a dull moment in the city. You can find her eating a cheeseburger in the West Village, at her pottery studio on the weekends, or cooking up something delicious!

Wallis has such a great eye, taste, and aesthetic. From a farmer’s market to pilates to cocktails, Wallis has put together some of her favorite NYC spots. You can’t go wrong with a visit to any of the following!

Union Square Farmers Market - One of my favorite places in New York! Saturday mornings at the Farmer's Market have easily become my favorite part of the week. The market boasts a plentiful year round selection of flowers, produce, vegetables and baked goods all from local vendors. I especially love getting a fresh sourdough loaf from Bread Alone Bakery!

Rigor Hill - Rigor Hill is my newest obsession! Located in Tribeca by Chef Austin Johnson (of One White Street), Rigor Hill provides the neighborhood with fresh vegetables, prepared foods and delicious sandwiches! Everything is made in house and the produce is grown on their farm located in Upstate NY.

St. Jardim - I've had some of my favorite meals at St. Jardim! Breakfast, lunch or dinner, come here for a small but mighty selection of fresh foods, natural wine and really good coffee!

Malaparte - Great little Italian spot tucked away on a quiet street in the West Village. Come here on a summer evening and sit outside, or opt for the bar on a rainy weeknight. Perfection!

Housing Works Bookstore - Housing Works Bookstore, conveniently located by my office, has such a wonderful selection of gently used books. With a rotating selection, I tend to stop in frequently, because who can ever have too many coffee table books?!

28th St. Flower District - Such an inspiring place to visit without feeling like you need to buy anything! Whenever I'm in the area, I always walk down 28th street and pop into all the floral vendors! So much fun to see an explosion of color and look at all of the exotic plants and florals they have for sale!

Frenchette Bakery - A perfect french bakery tucked inside a very grand building! The pastries sell out quickly so go early in the morning - I love the pistachio croissant and egg savory!

Jolene - Jolene is one of those restaurants where the food is consistently delicious, the staff is friendly, and there is always a table available. Come here for brunch or dinner and expect to stay awhile.

New York Pilates - NYP is my happy place! While they have locations around the city, I love the West Village Studio! The arched windows and high ceilings make the space feel more like a spa than a workout studio. Take Piera's class for a challenge and a laugh!
