With an exceptional eye for detail and passion for design to ensure that every project is a masterpiece, discover more about the art of living beautifully with Madison Napier below.

1. Tell me about yourself and your work.

I am an Interior Designer based in NYC, where I advocate for design as an art form integrated into everyday life. I studied Real Estate at NYU and furthered my education at Parson’s School of Design. I have designed homes in New York and Paris, and my work is heavily influenced by my European heritage in which you can see translated into my work through vintage objects sourced throughout France.

2. What is the LAUNE (mood) of your work, taste, and aesthetic?

Eclectic yet minimal, colorful yet not too loud, and contemporary meets vintage.

3. Describe your style in three words.

I had to run to my dear (& chicest) friend, Caroline, for this answer! Romantic, refined, artisanal. I think for my personal style in what I wear day to day, I truly stick to my capsule wardrobes each season. My personal style definitely is more muted compared to my interiors, but I look to style icons such as Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, for my inspiration.

4. What inspires you?

The women I get to surround myself with daily, whether those are my clients, friends, and my family. Social media, especially in the past year, has introduced me to so many creative and inspiring women that I have worked with and have had the honors of gaining a friendship with. But most importantly, my mother will always be my greatest inspiration, and I strive to evolve into the woman she is, and continues to show to me and the world around her.

5. What has been your favorite project to date and why?

My project with Sofia Franklyn will always be my favorite, as it was what kick started my career and working with Sofia was an absolute dream- she truly embodies the spirit of a strong, creative business woman that inspires me to this day. (Read more about Madison’s project with Sofia here on Forbes!)

6. In your opinion, what makes a space?

Before I take on any clients, I like to learn the story of who they are, whether that's learning about their heritage, where they run away to for holiday, etc. To me, this is the launching point for my design, as I truly think a space embodies more than just pieces of furniture but design elements that allow the client’s personality to play out throughout the home.

7. What is your favorite room in a house or apartment to decorate?

A bathroom! I feel most clients of mine allow full creative freedom to this space and where I love to play with a mix of materials, wallpaper, art, etc.

8. What’s next for you?

I can’t say too much about it, but I have something very exciting launching this fall, that ties into how you start your day, how you end your day, and embodies the art of living.

Rapid Fire:

1. Favorite brand?

For clothes, The Frankie Shop. For home decor, Agnes Studios who I have had the honors of working with on a few projects and I am constantly inspired by their team & pieces alone.

2. Morning or evening light?

Evening light! Especially living in NYC, I love seeing the transition of all the lights throughout each building sprinkle out as the sun goes down.

3. AM or PM skincare?

Ugh, tough one!! I am going to have to say AM skincare because my latest obsession is the “Le Glaçon” face roller by DORÉ followed by my LED Gua Sha - the ultimate treat to start my day.

4. Dream collab?

I am obsessed with hotel lobby bars & their gift shops that sell robes, slippers, any sort of their branding…. so a dream collab would be some sort of creative project with an historic hotel such as Sunset Tower, Hotel Chelsea, etc. (EM: How chic!)

5. Favorite place?

My go-to hideaway spot is Chateau les Crostes in Provence. It is truly the most sacred place in my life at the moment, as it is where I run away to for inspiration and to reset outside of NYC.

6. Favorite drinks spot in NYC?

Bisou! Located in SoHo, and I have so much love for the owner and everyone involved there, & the community they embody makes this wine bar so special. (EM: Another amazing fav!)

7. Favorite restaurant in NYC?

Tied between Waverly Inn and Trattoria One Fifth

8. Favorite artist?

This is constantly changing, but at the moment, Peggy Kuiper.

9. Favorite movie?

La Piscine

10. What are you loving right now?

The Olympics! I love seeing all the hard work of each athlete pay off, and the emotions that play out at the end of their performance.
