LAUNE x Jeumont

Meet Kelli and Brittni Kling, co-founders of Jeumont! Passionate about skincare, the two previously worked in other professions, but eventually joined forces to found Jeumont. Kelli and Brittni identified a hole in the market for something which many of us now use daily, eye-masks! Sporting cute and catchy phrases, their So-Eyeronic Eye Masks make the perfect skincare and Instagram post accessory. More recently, the brand launched Poker Face Blemish Patches, a playful way to cover up something not-so-playful. Below, the two talk their inspiration, how to use their products, Vancouver recommendations, their dream collab, and more.

1. Tell me about Jeumont? How was it created?

Brittni and I have always felt entrepreneurial; having a brand was always something we knew we wanted, even if we didn’t know what it was going to be. I think having that underlying entrepreneurial instinct is key. After graduating from university, we both worked in our respective fields for the next 5+ years. At a certain point, we both felt unfulfilled by working for a company vs. the possibility of having our own. I had the retail and sales experience, and Brittni had the marketing and photography experience – we were just waiting for a business concept that felt right. Eventually mid-pandemic, we found a hole in the market in an industry we knew we were passionate about – skincare. Eye masks were a product that both Brittni and I enjoyed using as they are a versatile skincare tool and often used for cute photo opportunities. However, due to our sensitive skin, we found that existing eye masks were pre-soaked in serums with fragrance or irritating ingredients and lacked personality. To address these issues, we came up with the idea of creating our own line of eye masks with playful phrases. Our unique selling point was making the masks reusable and compatible with a variety of skincare products, catering to different skin needs, (especially for those with sensitive skin).

2. What is the LAUNE (mood) of Jeumont?

Statement making. We created an eye mask for every mood, so really Jeumont can resonate with anyone. However, we like to push the envelope with our branding and stand out with edgy designs.

3. What made you fall in love with skincare?

Skincare is something that makes people feel good, we wanted to create a brand that elevates people’s self care routines.

4. How should people incorporate Jeumont products into their skincare routines?

At Jeumont, we like to call skincare routines “self-care routines.” When looking for an eye cream or serum the choices can be overwhelming. Beauty brands support unattainable standards to make you feel like you need all of them, and boast to be “anti-aging” when really, as Phillip Pacardi said to Gwyneth Paltrow, “You can’t be anti something that is inevitable.” So how do you feel good about your skincare routine with all of this pressure? You put a focus on self-care. Self-care encompasses more than just hydrating, and reducing the appearance of dark circles. While that is important, to us self care means practicing mindfulness, self love & gratitude during those 10-20 minutes while your Jeumont eye masks are on. Whether it be listening to your favorite podcast, reading a book, drinking your favorite beverage, or journaling, everyday we hope people create a routine centered around feeling good about themselves from the inside out.

5. What inspires you?

Our customers. I think knowing that we're touching so many people to feel comfortable in their own skin and making their self care routines a little more enjoyable, empowering them to look and feel the way they want is endlessly inspiring. We love seeing makeup-less, filter-less selfies posted to social media wearing our products. Especially when we see brides getting ready for their big day with our “Wifey” masks! It is so surreal.

6. What are three staple products that every skincare routine should have and why?

Skincare doesn’t need to be over complicated. Consistency is the most important factor. A good 3 step routine AM&PM is what we swear by. A great cleanser, hydrating moisturiser, brightening eye cream in the PM and of course a mineral sunscreen in the AM. Sunscreen is SO important.

7. What’s next for Jeumont? ‘

For us, we’re committed to playing the long game with our business. It’s definitely not a ‘get rich quick’ scheme. In our first year and after our initial investment to get our product launched, we focused on breaking-even while we grew our audience and brand awareness, we also focused on gauging how our product resonated with our target market. Now in our second year, we’re still focused on brand awareness, however, we’ve also shifted more of a focus on growing our retailers and hitting daily sales targets – this is because it is allowing us to design and develop new products in the overall goal of growing our product catalogue and brand. We recently released our Poker Face Blemish Patches a couple weeks ago, and are currently developing our own moisturizer with a chemist for a 2025 release. We are really excited about this!
